- 1/2 lb. Smithfield Hometown Original Thick Cut Bacon1/2 lb.
- 1-2 tbsp. Olive Oil1-2 tbsp.
- 1 tbsp. Fresh Basil Leaves or 1 tsp. Dried Basil1 tbsp.
- 1 pint Fresh Strawberries, sliced1 pint
- Sliced Fresh Mozzarella
- 1 lb. Pizza Dough1 lb.
- 1/3 cup Aged Balsamic Vinegar1/3 cup
- 1/4 cup Strawberry Spreadable Fruit or Jam1/4 cup
- Grated Parmesan, if desired
Preheat oven to 425ºF. Line a sheet pan with oversized parchment paper (for easy clean-up). Place bacon strips along pan and cook for 8-12 minutes, or until brown and crispy. Flip bacon strips halfway through cook time. Remove from oven and pat off grease. Cut bacon into bite sized pieces.
Grease sheet pan and set aside. Place pizza dough on lightly floured surface, letting dough come to room temperature before handling. Cut dough in half and roll out, shaping into each half into a heart as you go. Place hearts on sheet pan. Brush tops of hearts with olive oil. Layer sliced mozzarella, basil and strawberries on top and scatter bacon pieces.
Place in oven for 12-15 minutes or until internal cook temperature of dough is 200ºF.
While pizza is cooking, make the strawberry balsamic glaze. Put balsamic vinegar in small sauce pan and bring to a boil, then let it simmer 4-6 minutes or until it starts to thicken. Add strawberry jam to the thickened vinegar and whisk until fully incorporated together. Let cool for a couple minutes and place in a serving container.
Once pizza is ready, remove from oven and lightly sprinkle with strawberry balsamic glaze. Serve hot with grated parmesan.
