Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
By entering the Smithfield Porktoberfest Giveaway (the “Sweepstakes”), sponsored by Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. (“Sponsor”), entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and Sponsor’s decisions regarding administration of the Sweepstakes, subject to applicable law.
1. Eligibility. The Sweepstakes is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are at least 18 years old and have reached the age of majority in their state of residence at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor and its parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising agencies and promotion agencies, and their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and persons living in the same household, are not eligible to enter or win.
2. Entry Period. The Sweepstakes begins on October 8, 2026 when Sponsor publishes a post on its Instagram page, @SmithfieldBrand, announcing the Sweepstakes with a Porktoberfest-themed question, and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on October 19, 2026 (the “Entry Period”). Sponsor’s designated timekeeping system is the official clock for the Sweepstakes.
3. How to Enter. To enter during the Entry Period, use your personal Instagram account to (a) follow @SmithfieldBrand; (b) like the Sweepstakes post published by @SmithfieldBrand; and (c) comment on that post with an answer to the Porktoberfest-themed question stated in the post and tag one friend by including the friend’s Instagram @username in the same comment. Complete all three steps during the Entry Period. Existing followers may enter by completing the other steps during the Entry Period. No purchase or sharing of the post is required. Tagging additional friends does not provide additional entries. A tagged friend is not entered unless that person separately completes all entry requirements. Comments will not be judged on creativity, quality or whether they express a favorable opinion of Smithfield.
Limit one entry per person during Entry Period, regardless of the number of comments or accounts used. Additional comments do not provide additional entries. Entrant must be the individual who owns the account used to enter. Entry comments must remain visible to Sponsor through winner verification, and entrants must be able to receive direct messages from @SmithfieldBrand. Incomplete or late entries and entries generated by automated means are ineligible. Comments must respond to the question and may not contain unlawful, threatening, harassing, obscene or infringing material as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Instagram accounts are free and subject to Instagram’s terms. Standard message and data rates may apply.
4. Selection of Winners and Odds. On or about October 20, 2026, Sponsor’s marketing team will select ten potential winners in a random drawing from all eligible entries received during the Entry Period. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Limit one prize per person and household.
5. Winner Notification and Verification. Potential winners will be notified by Instagram direct message from @SmithfieldBrand and must respond within 48 hours after the message is sent, providing their full name, mailing address and requested T-shirt size. Sponsor may require reasonable proof of eligibility and an eligibility affidavit and liability/publicity release, where permitted by law. A potential winner is not a winner until eligibility is verified. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, fails to respond or provide requested information within the stated deadline, is ineligible, declines the prize or otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules, Sponsor may select an alternate by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries. Sponsor will not request payment or credit card information to claim a prize.
6. Prizes. Ten winners will each receive one prize package consisting of one Porktoberfest-themed T-shirt, one Porktoberfest pin, one Porktoberfest tote bag and three $10 Smithfield coupons (aggregate coupon face value: $30). Approximate retail value (“ARV”) of each package: $45. Total ARV of all prizes: $450.
T-shirt sizes are subject to availability. Coupons are subject to their printed terms, including eligible products, expiration dates and redemption restrictions, and are not redeemable for cash except as required by law. Any purchase amount exceeding a coupon’s value is the winner’s responsibility. Prizes will be mailed to verified winners at the U.S. mailing addresses they provide, at Sponsor’s expense. Winners are responsible for any applicable taxes and expenses not expressly included. Prizes are nontransferable, and no cash redemption or substitution is permitted, except that Sponsor may substitute an unavailable prize or component with one of equal or greater value. Sponsor is not responsible for shipping delays or loss or damage in transit beyond its reasonable control. Actual prize values may vary; no difference between actual value and stated ARV will be awarded.
7. Release and Limitations of Liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, each entrant releases Sponsor, Instagram, Facebook and Meta Platforms, Inc., and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, and officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, “Released Parties”), from claims arising out of participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance or use of a prize. Released Parties are not responsible for technical failures, interrupted or unavailable services, or lost, late, incomplete, misdirected or inaccessible entries or notifications resulting from circumstances beyond their reasonable control. Nothing in these Official Rules excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. General Conditions. Sponsor may disqualify anyone who tampers with the entry process or operation of the Sweepstakes, uses automated entry methods or multiple accounts to evade the entry limit, or violates these Official Rules. If fraud, technical failures or other causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control compromise the integrity or proper administration of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor may suspend, modify or terminate the affected portion. If terminated early, Sponsor may award the prizes by random drawing from eligible entries received before the disruption, if feasible and fair. Sponsor will announce any material change through the Sweepstakes post. These Official Rules govern in the event of a conflict with promotional materials. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
9. Publicity. Except where prohibited by law, accepting a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor to use the winner’s name, Instagram handle, city and state of residence to identify winners and promote the Sweepstakes, without additional compensation.
10. Privacy. Personal information collected in connection with the Sweepstakes will be handled in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy, available at https://www.smithfieldfoods.com/about-us/policies-disclosures/privacy-policy.
11. Disputes. To the extent permitted by applicable law, disputes arising out of the Sweepstakes or these Official Rules will be governed by Virginia law, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles, and brought in the state or federal courts serving Smithfield, Virginia. This provision does not limit any nonwaivable rights or protections available under applicable law.
12. Winners List. For the names of the winners, send a request and a self-addressed stamped envelope to “Smithfield Porktoberfest Giveaway,” 111 Commerce St., Smithfield, VA 23430, Attn: Marketing Department - Winners List. Requests must be postmarked after the Entry Period and received no later than 60 days after its close.
