Preheat your oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F.
Prepare the asparagus: Wash the asparagus spears thoroughly and trim off the tough ends.
Wrap the asparagus with bacon: Take a slice of Smithfield Bacon and wrap it around 2-3 asparagus spears, depending on the size of the spears and the bacon. Start wrapping from the bottom of the spear and continue until you reach the top, slightly overlapping the bacon. Repeat for all the asparagus spears.
Secure the bacon: You can secure the bacon with toothpicks, if necessary, especially at the ends, to prevent it from unraveling during cooking.
Season: Place the bacon-wrapped asparagus on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Drizzle olive oil over the bundles and season with salt and pepper.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the asparagus is tender. Cooking time may vary, so keep an eye on it towards the end of cooking.
Serve: Once done, remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Optionally, you can remove the toothpicks before serving. Serve warm as a delicious appetizer or side dish.
